What You’ll Need
- 6 green apples (Granny Smith preferred, but any variety will work)
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Toppings: Karamel Apple Blasters, chocolate, chopped nuts, crushed cookies
- Thermometer
- Saucepan
- Baking sheet
- Wax paper
- 6 skewers (or popsicle sticks)
Instructions
- Wash and dry the green apples, then insert skewers into the stem of each apple. Line your baking sheet with wax paper and place the apples on it.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir continuously until the mixture reaches 240°F on your thermometer.
- Once the mixture reaches 240°F, remove the saucepan from heat and let it rest for 1 minute.
- Carefully dip each apple into the caramel mixture, coating them evenly and allowing the excess to drip off.
- While the caramel is still soft, roll each apple in your favorite toppings. Get creative and add a Karamel Apple Blaster or other festive toppings to personalize each one!
- Place the decorated apples back onto the wax paper to set. Let them cool completely before serving. You can speed up the process by placing the tray in the fridge.
Enjoy your Karamel Apple Thanksgiving feast and share this tasty tradition with loved ones!
